Wacky Wednesday

Sometimes you just need to laugh! Especially on those Wednesdays where it seems you’ve got a lot more of the week left than has already passed. To get you over that hump, Bohm-Marrazzo Photography has some funny pictures to share with you that will surely bring a smile to your face.

Say cheese! Gunner, the yellow lab sticks his tongue out at the camera during a photo shoot for Frontline last year. Sometimes the outtakes of a photoshoot are just as golden as the intended shot. So don’t delete those “in-between” images; take a look there may be something of value in there!

Thanks to Sue Johnson for the ever-charming Gunner.

Happy Wednesday!

Olympic Cats Featured in InTouch Magazine

As you may remember, our Olympic cats pridefully celebrate their victories on the podium. Our photograph was featured on page 64 of the August 27th issue of InTouch Magazine! Just as the cats are super excited, so are we!

“The caption reads: “Inspired by Olympian Gabby Douglas, rescue cat Riplee, 2, raises his arms to celebrate his win over Pippi and Bonnie. The feline friends owned and photographed by Linda Bohm of Montclair, N.J., re-created this gymnastics ceremony by proudly posing in front of the famous rings.

(**Should read photographed by Linda Bohm and Gerry Marrazzo of Bohm-Marrazzo Photography**).

So in case you happened to see this as you were flipping through your copy of InTouch Magazine, that’s why it looked so familiar. 🙂

Lunch?

Why not spend some of the last weeks of summer meeting up with some old friends?! Our talented Pyrenean Shepard, Whoopee is certainly interested!

Working with animals in photography as mentioned before can be a lot of fun, but difficult if working with untrained animals. Animals with basic training make good models. Animals with advanced training make great models! As you can see Whoopee has mastered holding things in her mouth for an extended period of time, as she awaits a reply for a lunch date. Not all dogs can do this, they have to be trained to hold the pose which is crucial in being able to create a photograph like this one.

Now, let’s not leave Whoopee hanging too long….Let’s do lunch!

It’s All About ATTITUDE

Winston Churchill once said, “Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.” Winston was right, in more than one way! Attitude is important not only in how you live your life, but also in how you take someone’s portrait. The attitude of your subject plays a major role in the over all atmosphere of the image. Therefore it is of dire importance to capture your subject in such a way that their attitude shines through.

The attitude that you catch your subject in also depends on the mood you are trying to convey with your photograph. Timing is everything. Catching that one facial expression, be it smile or scowl, is what makes the picture.

However, this doesn’t just go for portraits of people. Animals have attitudes, too!
Those of which Linda Bohm and Gerry Marrazzo are unparalleled in capturing.
As you can see, the expression caught on Pippi’s face shows her fierce “CAT-itude!”

Remember, attitude is everything!

Put ‘Em Up!

As the Italian Stallion Rocky Balboa once said, “it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.”

Claressa Shields, 17 year old American Boxing Olympic hopeful is an inspiration to our “Riplee Shields” who has gone undefeated in all her matches. It must be those hand-made gloves
that Linda Bohm crafted just for her. She takes on every opponent, even if they are twice her size. This image was shot for Splash News to show the world that there are gold medal winners in every species.

Stay tuned to find out about more Animal Olympic Medalists!

Who’s your favorite olympian?

At Bohm-Marrazzo Photography we’re a big fan of swimming prodigy, Michael Phelps. So is the lovely border collie “Luca Phelps”.
Here, she takes on the character of 22-time gold medalist Michael Phelps. Recuperating from some world record breaking laps in the pool, Luca still finds the composure to pose for the camera.

Unfortunately we were not able to go to London to shoot at the Olympic pool, so we posed our Olympian in the studio and compiled the image with a background of the pool–Thanks to Gerry’s photoshop expertise. You would never know she wasn’t actually an olympic swimmer would you? This photograph was taken for SPLASH News (and for our amusement)!

Happy Sporting. Game on!

Special thanks to Diane Bauman for the lovely Luca!
