Cruisin’

This week is just flying on by! We have already approached Wednesday, mid-week. This talented Afghan puppy is cruising along, too!

Contrary to popular belief, Afghan Hounds are quite intelligent and trainable, as you can see here as the puppy skateboards by. This photograph was taken when the puppy was only 8 weeks old! Credits to world-renowned trainer Diane Bauman for the talented pup!

It’s All About ATTITUDE

Winston Churchill once said, “Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.” Winston was right, in more than one way! Attitude is important not only in how you live your life, but also in how you take someone’s portrait. The attitude of your subject plays a major role in the over all atmosphere of the image. Therefore it is of dire importance to capture your subject in such a way that their attitude shines through.

The attitude that you catch your subject in also depends on the mood you are trying to convey with your photograph. Timing is everything. Catching that one facial expression, be it smile or scowl, is what makes the picture.

However, this doesn’t just go for portraits of people. Animals have attitudes, too!
Those of which Linda Bohm and Gerry Marrazzo are unparalleled in capturing.
As you can see, the expression caught on Pippi’s face shows her fierce “CAT-itude!”

Remember, attitude is everything!

Your Pet Ought to be in Pictures!

Packaging photography can be a lot of fun when working with adorable furry models!

At the Cat Expo this past weekend Bohm-Marrazzo Photography had a booth with some of the packages we did the photography for and some

information on how you can get your pet into pictures.

Read on to find out more!

How to get your pet into advertising…

  1. Lights, Camera, Action! Take lots of photos of your pet so they get comfortable with the flash!
  2. Your four-legged friend should feel at home…everywhere. When your pet is young bring them out to mingle with other people and pets in various environments so they will feel comfortable in new places.
  3. It’s all about training. Your pet should be trained to sit and stay and hold a pose. Tricks and agility are always bonuses.
  4. Submit the best of the best. When sending in photos of your pet for casting opportunities make sure you send the best, well lit photographs because the better the photo the more likely they will make the cut.
  5. Ready for their close up? Keep your pet in shape and healthy to increase their chances of getting chosen for the job.
  6. Contact us! Send in your photos and information about your pet to casting@bohm-marrazzo.com if you think your pet has what it takes. If we think your pet is a future superstar we’ll contact you back!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Garden State Cat Club’s Cat Expo this weekend! The event was a booming success, up in attendance by 40% from last year!

Special thanks to SGW and Niles Wolfson for the media blitz helping to create such an amazing turnout.

We had so much fun at the expo! There were cats in cars,  face painting, and lots of vendors.
There were some adorable cats to be adopted and a cat agility event in which our very own Pippi participated in.

Check out some photos of the event below!

Hopefully everyone else who went enjoyed it just as much! (And maybe even brought home a new furry friend!)

It’s all in the Family

Whether you’re shooting human siblings, or a clowder of cats – always be expecting the unexpected!

On any given day, family members may be lovers or haters to one another – when shooting, you should always be ready to distract them from one another!

For this specific shoot, we were told to have these kittens playing lovingly with their grandfather and great-grandfather!  There are a few ways to get this done…

1. Food, food, food!  Kiddies to Kittens, we’re all suckers for food!

2. Lots of helpful hands! These kittens, much like toddlers like to roam – be prepared to play catch!

3. Rewards! Catnip and more food (or toys, for the humans!) always  give you enough time to catch your breath!

Happy Shooting!
