Cold Weather is Rushing In!

From a solid 80 degrees earlier last week, this unpredictable NJ fall has sped into a chilly wintry temperature. With low temperatures creeping into the 40’s this weather is quite a shock! So get ready for a wild winter! Break out those heavy coats and toasty gloves for the frigid evenings ahead.

Although many of us weren’t ready for such a quick start into cold weather, embrace it! Have some hot coffee or hot chocolate and bundle yourself up. Get out and get some winter action like skiing up in the mountains before the winter rush!

Think warm thoughts!

The flight of the monarch

Monarch butterflies are amazing creatures. Fall is the time when monarchs begin their migration. Unlike other butterflies North American Monarchs travel up to 3,000 miles in migration each year. They make the round trip voyage once in their lives, and then their children and grandchildren follow the same migration root in the future, often returning to the same trees as their ancestors to avoid bitter winters. However, only the fourth generation monarchs migrate each year; the first three generations die after only six weeks of being out of their cocoons, whereas the fourth generation can live for 6-8 months.

As you can see these creatures are extremely delicate and beautiful. Preserved butterflies make for a beautiful natural prop in photography.

As fall breezes in, watch for monarchs in your area! Track the flight of the monarchs and when you should be able to see them here: http://www.monarchwatch.org/tagmig/peak.html

Back to School

It’s that time of year again. Everyone’s back from their last hoorah Labor Day weekend getaway. The kids are in bed early, lunch is packed, and everyone’s new shoes are ready to be worn.

It’s the first day of school.

Remember, you never get a second chance at a first impression. So, dress for success and hop on the bus! (^^Not like some of these slackers.)

Enjoy the first day back at school if you’re a student, (and if you’re a parent!) Get back into learning mode. Take some new ideas home with you every day. But don’t worry, even if you’re not learning anything fun in school, you can always learn fun things about photography here on Bohm-Marrazzo Photography’s blog. Be sure to do your homework and keep reading our notes…you will be tested.

Happy Learning. 🙂

Autumn is creeping up on us…

The summer is slowly creeping to an end, and fall is sneaking on in. It’s starting to get a little colder at night. There are a few fallen leaves scattered here and there as the wind gusts through the trees. You’re favorite pumpkin spice coffee drink has reappeared on the menus. The season is changing and Autumn is right around the corner.

Autumn, the ever-sneaky season always finds a way of inching it’s way in when summer is still on everyone’s minds. So why not sneak up on Autumn? Start gathering your school books and pulling out your fall jackets because before you know it, you’ll be needing them!

Happy sneaking. 🙂
