Tempted…

We all have our weaknesses, and sometimes you just gotta give in!

Don’t feel guilty about spending a little extra cash to get that new top your dying to have. Or that beautiful purse you fell in love with at the mall. ¬†It’s those little joys that keeps life exciting sometimes. Even these nuns are getting in their kicks with Mundi products! One great tool for successful advertising photography is humor! This Mundi ad that was shot by Bohm-Marrazzo ¬†shows that even these ¬†saintly women can be tempted by this product.

So kick that buyer’s remorse to the curb this week and let yourself be tempted! Why not?

Happy Spending. ūüôā

Texture and Color

Texture and color palette are both important elements of composing a photograph. The combination of texture and color palette can be  what makes an image. For example, this photograph taken for Exquisicat cat litter packaging is successful because of the monochromatic color scheme that contrasts with the bright colors of the box. Also, the complimentary textures of the blanket and the cats fur are aesthetically pleasing.

Things to consider:

  • Color schemes to try:¬†¬†Complimentary,¬†analogous, triadic, and yes, even monochromatic color schemes have their place!
  • Texture combinations:¬† Using different textures in combination with one another can create interesting visual patterns and enhance different parts of the image.
  • ¬†Synchronize these two:¬†Using a busy patterned texture ¬†with monochromatic colors works well, whereas these textures with bright and varying colors may be too overwhelming and distracting. Pair these elements with care to create a successful image.

Happy Shooting.

Wacky Wednesday

Sometimes you just need to laugh! Especially on those Wednesdays where it seems you’ve got a lot more of the week left than has already passed. To get you over that hump, Bohm-Marrazzo Photography has some funny pictures to share with you that will surely bring a smile to your face.

Say cheese! Gunner, the yellow lab sticks his tongue out at the camera during a photo shoot for Frontline last year. Sometimes the outtakes of a photoshoot are just as golden as the intended shot. So don’t delete those “in-between” images; take a look there may be something of value in there!

Thanks to Sue Johnson for the ever-charming Gunner.

Happy Wednesday!

Headshots are Important…for Everyone!

Just as headshots can be crucial for people with jobs in modeling, acting, or even business; headshots are just as important for animals seeking work!¬†One of the most basic steps in getting your animal into advertising photo shoots is to get them a great head shot. The better their photograph looks, the more likely they are to get chosen by the art director of the job. A photograph with good lighting that shows the animal’s face and body is a good bet. We photographed our friend Ilson’s (owner of Samba Restaurant in Montclair)¬†Boston Terrier, Bella. The image shows her fit body stature and lovable face.

Who could say no to casting that face?

Your Pet Ought to be in Pictures!

Packaging photography can be a lot of fun when working with adorable furry models!

At the Cat Expo this past weekend Bohm-Marrazzo Photography had a booth with some of the packages we did the photography for and some

information on how you can get your pet into pictures.

Read on to find out more!

How to get your pet into advertising…

  1. Lights, Camera, Action! Take lots of photos of your pet so they get comfortable with the flash!
  2. Your four-legged friend should feel at home…everywhere.¬†When your pet is young bring them out to mingle with other people and pets in various environments so they will feel comfortable in new places.
  3. It’s all about training.¬†Your pet should be trained to sit and stay and hold a pose. Tricks and agility are always bonuses.
  4. Submit the best of the best. When sending in photos of your pet for casting opportunities make sure you send the best, well lit photographs because the better the photo the more likely they will make the cut.
  5. Ready for their close up? Keep your pet in shape and healthy to increase their chances of getting chosen for the job.
  6. Contact us! Send in your photos and information about your pet to casting@bohm-marrazzo.com if you think your pet has what it takes. If we think your pet is a future superstar we’ll contact you back!

Cat Expo Major Success!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the¬†Garden State Cat Club’s Cat Expo¬†this weekend! The event was a¬†booming¬†success, up in attendance by 40% from last year!

Special thanks to SGW and Niles Wolfson for the media blitz helping to create such an amazing turnout.

We had so much fun at the expo! There were cats in cars,  face painting, and lots of vendors.
There were some adorable cats to be adopted and a cat agility event in which our very own Pippi participated in.

Check out some photos of the event below!

Hopefully everyone else who went enjoyed it just as much! (And maybe even brought home a new furry friend!)
