Lazy Lady

We know, we know…. The Pipster again!?!  But hey!. our little one just became a little lady – We celebrated the Pips first birthday with her best friends, Luca, Whoopee and Sealee – two Border Collies and a PyrShep!

After her favorite treats and a dance party (relax, photos to follow), our champion Somali decided to find herself a cozy spot on the floor and laze for the rest of the day.

Happy Birthday Pippi!

Tiger Cats

These three littles devils came by the studio for a quick hello and a meow!

Kittens are curious, adventurous and just plain-old cute.  There are hundreds every day that go up for adoption and are in a need of a good home.  Our friends over at Cameron Animal Hospital, in Montclair, NJ with Dr. Cameron let us share some of their wonderful new kittens looking for a new home.

Some myths about cats….

1.  Cats need to be bathed.   Nope! A healthy cat will do his or her own maintenance!

2. Cats should drink lots of milk.  Nope! Unlike the cartoons, these feline wonders like crisp cold water.  Dairy, although tasty, makes them a little pudgy!

3. Cats like to go for long walks in the park.   Nope! If that’s your plan for your new pet, you should look into a dog or ferret instead.

Trick or Treat

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

So this year, thanks to Hurricane Sandy, most of us on the East Coast had quite the Spooky Scary Halloween season!

As our hearts and best wishes go out to those who were badly affected by the Superstorm, we thought we could all use a little cheering up!

We are proud to introduce our new ‘gang of ghouls’!  Riplee, Phantom, BahBah and Little Feather.

A special thanks to Kristen R. for sharing some of her precious little ones.

Keep smiling!

Let’r Rip!

Our wonderfully strong, Riplee, has done it again!

Riplee Balboa defended her World Titles by defeating The Other Guy  in round 3 of their heavyweight battle. It was the 25th victory of Riplee’s career to end by knockout and her 27th victory overall. Riplee Balboa, the wondercat, dominated from start to finish. Whatever game plan The Other Guy brought into the ring failed miserably, he could not keep up with the range and power of his mighty opponent.

Put ’em up!!!

Monday Mornings…

Mondays are one of those days where you just don’t want to get out of bed in the morning…the bed is still so warm and it’s a little chilly outside. Then your alarm goes off, and you are not a happy camper. Somali cat, Pippi knows just how you feel today!  Sometimes hitting snooze for an extra few minutes is entirely necessary. Brew some fresh coffee  (extra strong) to help you get going.

Happy Monday!

Texture and Color

Texture and color palette are both important elements of composing a photograph. The combination of texture and color palette can be  what makes an image. For example, this photograph taken for Exquisicat cat litter packaging is successful because of the monochromatic color scheme that contrasts with the bright colors of the box. Also, the complimentary textures of the blanket and the cats fur are aesthetically pleasing.

Things to consider:

  • Color schemes to try:  Complimentary, analogous, triadic, and yes, even monochromatic color schemes have their place!
  • Texture combinations:  Using different textures in combination with one another can create interesting visual patterns and enhance different parts of the image.
  •  Synchronize these two: Using a busy patterned texture  with monochromatic colors works well, whereas these textures with bright and varying colors may be too overwhelming and distracting. Pair these elements with care to create a successful image.

Happy Shooting.

Olympic Cats Featured in InTouch Magazine

As you may remember, our Olympic cats pridefully celebrate their victories on the podium. Our photograph was featured on page 64 of the August 27th issue of InTouch Magazine! Just as the cats are super excited, so are we!

“The caption reads: “Inspired by Olympian Gabby Douglas, rescue cat Riplee, 2, raises his arms to celebrate his win over Pippi and Bonnie. The feline friends owned and photographed by Linda Bohm of Montclair, N.J., re-created this gymnastics ceremony by proudly posing in front of the famous rings.

(**Should read photographed by Linda Bohm and Gerry Marrazzo of Bohm-Marrazzo Photography**).

So in case you happened to see this as you were flipping through your copy of InTouch Magazine, that’s why it looked so familiar. 🙂

Autumn is creeping up on us…

The summer is slowly creeping to an end, and fall is sneaking on in. It’s starting to get a little colder at night. There are a few fallen leaves scattered here and there as the wind gusts through the trees. You’re favorite pumpkin spice coffee drink has reappeared on the menus. The season is changing and Autumn is right around the corner.

Autumn, the ever-sneaky season always finds a way of inching it’s way in when summer is still on everyone’s minds. So why not sneak up on Autumn? Start gathering your school books and pulling out your fall jackets because before you know it, you’ll be needing them!

Happy sneaking. 🙂

Manic Monday

It’s the beginning of the week, which sometimes feels like an unsurmountable challenge. With the weekend so far away, no amount of coffee or sandbag stress balls can get you through it. Sounds like somebody’s got a case of the Mondays.

However, the best thing the doctor can prescribe for those wicked Monday symptoms is a little Serotonin-“The Molecule of Happiness” !

Here’s what the doctor recommends:

Breathe. Smile. Read a few jokes or look at some silly pictures of animals from Bohm-Marrazzo Photography’s blog. Laugh.
Repeat 10-15 times daily or as needed.

Get well soon! 🙂
